Jeff
Shapiro (HueyGunner) is a certified master gunsmith licensed by the
state of NY and
is a disabled Combat
Veteran who served as a Door Gunner / Crew Chief in Vietnam as well as
serving as crew chief on a medevac
helicopter out of Saudi
during both Desert Shield and Desert Storm.Jeff joined
the Army in 1967 and served until his retirement in 1996 as a Master Sgt.
After retiring from the Army, Jeff took a job with the the FAA as an aviation safety inspector for aircraft maintenance aircraft and repair stations. He was also director of the inspection authorization program ia/ and was in charge of the mechanic examiners of which he still holds a rating for. He retired from the FAA in 2010.
Jeff has over 40 years experience with firearms offering services such as NM upgrades for M14 Rifle components, all done to U.S. military specs. He offers trigger work and parkerizing services, and can also blacken stainless steel components such as gas cylinders and barrels. One of his specialties is the complete rebuilding of rear sights.
